Teams from the London Lyndon SGB branch have been providing access solutions deep underground on the ‘London Super Sewer’ – aka the Thames Tideway Tunnel, pictured here on the Central Section.
The esteemed customer is specialist FLO (Ferrovial Agroman & Laing O’Rourke), with works commencing in October 2017 & still on-going 24:7:365.
The access solutions provided are genuine CUPLOK® materials along with MkII Solider components to form heavy-duty gallows brackets, supporting the structure every 8m (mechanically fixed to the shaft wall using chemical anchors). The scaffold was built by suspending lift-by-lift as the 54m deep shaft was excavated.
We supplied & installed the 54m suspended staircase access and offered weekly site inspections in the tunnels.
The structure was designed in-house with the drawings being supported by detailed calculations and CAT certification. The design package was subject to a category 2 design check, before we supplied and progressively installed the 54m suspended staircase access. The scaffold was handed over in completed sections – the completed sections being subject to schedule 7 statutory inspection.
It’s another great example of our nationwide ability to meet the exacting demands of our clients; safely & with consistent, quality… all managed for the customer in-house.
